 With photographs by Danny On, this is a "photographic essay of Glacier National Park and the Northern Rocky Mountains. Danny On, friend and lover of the western mountain landscape perished in a skiing accident at 54. His amazing photography and the obvious respect he had garnered from everyone who knew him provided the inspiration for this book. The high color photographs are crisp and clean. Animals practically jump off the page. Book is a slender, 113 page volume. Cover is a bit abused, with edgewear and a decisive crease on the front lower right corner. Binding is good, pages clean.

Plain tan cover with a drawing of the house on the front. Has a stain and a scratch on front. Inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked.

 This is a pleasure book for the lover of nature and animals. It has a wonderful humor and gentleness in the various stories of animals, birds, and plants. Good information on orchids, owls and other birds. Illustrated with photographs. The book has gold gilt lettering on the spine and an illustration of a wooded pine on the front cover. Overall, it is very worn, somewhat warped, with a repair to the binding and still other sorrows. Thus the very reduced price.

Oddly, the dj has small remnants of yellowed tape on inside flaps. All else is good and clean, no previous owner marks, binding sturdy, etc. Ah, the relaxing joy of nature musings.

 This impressive volume was published in 1936 and has a certain regal air to it. It is finely produced with green cloth over boards and red and gold accents on the cover to highlight the title and author. An ivy decoration accents the front cover. The frontispiece is a photograph of Darwin and portraits of other naturalist luminaries are included throughout the book. Satisfyingly, the book goes back to Aristotle to begin profiling dignataries and continues through the Middle Ages, through the dynamic, scientific explorations of the seventeeth century, the lapland adventures of Linnaeus and the various contributions of Goethe, Bartram, Darwin, Audubon and many more. A worthy reference. Antiquated book plate on front left inside endpage.

Seasons, plants, animals, snowshowing, etc, etc, and first-hand accounts of his travels with wife Jane to Lapland, Peru, Galapagos and elsewhere. Book is in good condition, clean and no shelf wear, published 1984, 296 pages, index. Dust jacket has some wear on the edges, including a 1/2 inch chip out of the top edge. Protective cover.
