Looks like an exhaustive listing of boats, each profiled with general info, specs, sail area, description and key features. Published in cooperation with Multihulls Magazine. Now, I know very little about these vessels, being a Northern girl, but I do marvel at them. Making me yearn for passage on my cousin's boat in the Virgin Islands. Was published at $29.95 - now only $12.00! Some copies might be a bit shelf-worn.

 2nd edition, 1915, 340 pages, with deep blue cloth over boards, illustrated cover is still bold. Book has a good amount of edgewear especially at corners and more on the upper/lower spine. A white penned stack number and slight remnants of a corner pocket on the front inside cover are the only indications that this was once a library book. Binding is good and pages are clean and unmarked. Illustrated with frontipiece and 15 plates throughout. This is a well-researched overview by the author of 'The Story of the New England Whalers,' John R. Spears, describing the growth of the US merchant marine from the first commercial vessel in 1607 through the Revolution, steam, privateering and pirates, packets and clippers, to the immediate pre-WWI period. No dust jacket.
