Very nice overall and somewhat hard to find in the states.

 With 96 illustrations in full color and over 700 drawings by the author. 1st edition, 1963, 414 pages, indexed. Red cloth cover has faded and is worn, scuffed on edges, little white stain on upper front. Gold lettering on spine is somewhat hard to read. Remains square and relatively sturdy. Pages clean and good.

 3rd prtg. 1946. B&W illustrations. Penned by former Vermont governor and U.S Senator, Aiken was well-respected for his ecological stance and strange appreciation of field and garden. Brown clothbound with pale green lettering on spine. Very little wear. Dust jacket is still colorful but with small tears and chips along edges. Now in protective cover. Binding good, pages clean. Very nice copy.

 1st edition. The author gives this book a very intimate feel in her introduction and preparation of pictures and drawings by which to illustrate her text. 1952. Pale green cloth over boards with a dark green painted spine and gold title accent. Gold flower and butterfly on front cover are slightly faded as well as the cloth alone in the spine and edges. The drawings are really special. The chapter of profiles of master wildflower gardeners is interesting and the "Twelve favorites for a Start" is quite practical. Very nice book.
